John Wornall House
At the John Wornall House, built during the 1850s, soldiers’ ghosts have been seen on the balconies and
guarding the doors. The farm is very close to the site of the Civil War Battle of Westport, and this house
was used as a temporary hospital for the injured men from both the Confederate and Union sides. There
is also said to be a sad, motherly spirit here as well.
